Personalized Mugs With Names

One design on every mug, tumbler or notebook, with a different name under it on each. Paste the list; the names are free. Mugs from $11.30, no minimum.

Personalized mugs with names are one design on every mug and a different name under it on each: a mug for every teacher on staff, every new hire, every volunteer or every player. Remi, the AI designer in the chat, designs it with you. You add the names, check every mug on screen before you pay, and order once. The Steel Tumbler and the notebooks work the same way.

Which items take a name?

Six items take a name under the design: three mugs in 11oz or 15oz, the 20oz Steel Tumbler and two notebooks. The tote and the hats do not. Prices are each, set by how many of that item are on the order, and the 11oz and 15oz of one mug count together.

Item Size 1 to 11 12 or more 24 or more 50 or more
Ceramic Mug 11oz $11.30 $8.04 $7.89 $7.81
Ceramic Mug 15oz $13.30 $9.46 $9.29 $9.19
Accent Mug 11oz $12.40 $9.14 $8.99 $8.92
Accent Mug 15oz $15.63 $11.53 $11.34 $11.25
Black Mug 11oz $13.20 $9.93 $9.79 $9.71

Each item's colors, print area and care are on its own page: custom mugs, custom tumblers and custom notebooks.

How do you add a name to each mug?

Choose Add a name to each one on the mug in your order, then type or paste the names and check every mug. Five steps, all on the design page:

  1. Design it with Remi

Tell Remi, the AI designer in the chat, who the mugs are for, such as "teacher appreciation from the PTA, with our school logo", or upload your own logo. She designs it and shows it on the mug. The name goes under a design, so every item needs one.

  2. Choose Add a name to each one

On the mug in your order, under its sizes, choose Add a name to each one. Or tell Remi in the chat "personalize each mug". The names list opens with a row for every mug already on the order, each in its size.

  3. Type or paste the names

Type a name on each row, or choose Paste a list: a name on each line, or columns copied from a spreadsheet. Give each row its size, 11oz or 15oz.

  4. Set the look

Choose a lettering style, a color, an outline and a height. Or tell Remi in the list's own box how the names should look, like "varsity in gold".

  5. Check every one, then save

Choose See every mug (or tumbler, or notebook) to see each one with its name and size, then Save the list. The quantities on your order now come from the list.

One list holds up to 80 names.

How is each name set?

Centered under the design, in capitals, at one height for the whole list. To make room for it, the design moves up, and gets smaller only if moving is not enough.

  • Height: Small (0.4 in), Standard (0.55 in) or Large (0.7 in), the same for every name on the list.
  • Style: four lettering styles, Athletic block, Varsity, Rounded or Squared.
  • Color: any of the 15 lettering colors except white on the mugs, with an optional outline in a second color.
  • Long names: narrowed first, and set smaller only when narrowing is not enough. A name can run wider than a small logo, to 3.5 in, or as wide as a wider design, but never past the print area to the handle. See every mug marks each one "narrowed to fit" or "set smaller to fit".
  • Two designs on one item: pick which one the names go under.
  • Too little room: if the design leaves too little room under it, the list says "Not enough room under the design for the names", and the order cannot go through until there is room.

All three mugs are printed by dye sublimation, which has no white ink, so white lettering does not print on any of them. The list shows white as unavailable on a mug and says why, and a new list starts in a color that shows: gold on the Black Mug, black on the white Ceramic Mug. On the Accent Mug the name prints on the white outside, like the design, so its color is checked against white, not against the colored inside and handle. The Steel Tumbler's print does have a white.

Are names printed exactly as typed?

Yes, spelled exactly as you type them, in capitals and with accents left off. We do not correct spelling, so a name misspelled on the list is printed that way, and that is not a misprint.

  • Up to 22 characters, spaces and punctuation included.
  • Letters A to Z, spaces, hyphens, periods and apostrophes. Accented letters print without the accent, so Muñoz prints as MUNOZ. Anything else, digits included, is left out of a name.
  • A title counts toward the 22: "Ms. Lopez" prints as MS. LOPEZ.
  • Check the list against the staff directory, the class list or the team roster, not against memory.

A name printed differently from your list is a misprint, and we reprint it. The print quality policy has the details.

What do personalized mugs cost?

The mug's price, and nothing for the name. Names are free on every mug, tumbler and notebook, and they print in the same area as the design, so they add no print area either. There is no minimum: one named mug is an order.

  • Bulk prices count each item's own pieces across its sizes and across the order. Twelve Ceramic Mugs in any mix of 11oz and 15oz take the 12 or more price; six Ceramic and six Accent Mugs do not.
  • Shipping is free to one US address.
  • Paperwork: need a quote or an invoice for a school or company? See quotes and purchase orders.

How do named mugs ship?

Free, to one US address, by the faster service: a parcel carrying a names list always ships that way, so there is no faster shipping to buy for it.

  • Timing: up to 10 business days to print, then the carrier. Your cart turns both into arrival dates before you pay; leave a buffer before an event. See how long custom shirts take.
  • One list, one address: a names list ships whole, to one address. A second list on the same order, such as mugs with another school's logo, can go to a second address. See shipping one order to several addresses.
  • Separate orders are priced on their own, so bulk prices count each order separately.

Who orders mugs with names?

Anyone giving the same gift to each person in a group, with that person's name on it:

  • PTAs and PTOs: a mug for every teacher and staff member during Teacher Appreciation Week, with the school's logo. See teacher appreciation gifts.
  • Offices and HR: welcome mugs for new hires, a holiday gift for the whole team, a send-off for a retirement. See corporate events and holiday parties.
  • Small businesses: your logo with each employee's name, on a mug for the desk or a tumbler for the road. See small business apparel.
  • Churches and nonprofits: a thank-you mug for each volunteer, choir member or ministry leader. See church and nonprofit apparel.
  • Coaches and leagues: an end-of-season mug or tumbler for every player and coach. For the team's shirts, see free names and numbers.
  • Teachers: a notebook for each student, with the student's name on the cover.
  • Wedding parties: a Steel Tumbler for each bridesmaid or groomsman. See wedding party shirts.

Common questions

Do names cost extra?

No. Names are free on every mug, tumbler and notebook, and they print in the same area as the design, so the item's price does not change. Mugs start at $11.30, and bulk prices apply from 12 of the same item.

Can I mix 11oz and 15oz mugs?

Yes. Each row on the list has its own size, so one list can hold both, and both sizes count together toward that mug's bulk price. The one exception is the Accent Mug in Blue, which comes in 15oz only.

Can each mug have a number too?

No. A mug, tumbler or notebook takes one name under the design and nothing else. Names and numbers together are for garments: see free names and numbers.

Can a name print in white on a mug?

No. All three mugs are printed by dye sublimation, which has no white ink, so the list does not offer white on a mug and says why. On the Black Mug, choose gold or another bright color instead. The Steel Tumbler in Black can carry white names.

Can each mug have a different design?

One design per list: every item on a list carries the same design, with its own name under it. A second design, such as another school's logo, goes on the order as a line of its own with its own list, and both count together toward that item's bulk price.

Can people type in their own names?

Not names to print on a mug, tumbler or notebook: you type or paste those. Collecting names by link is offered on garments, where each person adds what prints on their own shirt. A mug with no names list can still have a sizes link, which asks each person whether they want the 11oz or the 15oz and prints nothing of theirs. See collect shirt sizes by link.

Can a name go on a tote or a hat?

No. A name under the design is offered on the three mugs, the Steel Tumbler and the two notebooks only.
