Sizing Guide: How AI PromoDesign Tees, Hoodies, Polos, and Long Sleeves Fit
How AI PromoDesign's tees, hoodies, polos, and long sleeves actually fit, how to pick between two sizes, and how youth and adult sizes line up for mixed orders.

Bottom line: everything runs true to size and a little roomy except the polo, which is trimmer through the shoulders — size up on the polo if you're between sizes.
No chart of exact inches here — bodies vary more than a chart admits, and we would rather tell you what actually matters. Here is what we know from printing on all six garments: how each fits, how to break a tie between two sizes, and how youth and adult sizing relate when going in the same order.
The general rule
Five of the six garments run true to size with a little extra room through the body — comfortable, everyday blanks, not a snug athletic cut. The polo is the exception, cut trimmer through the shoulders and chest.
Fit by garment
- Adult Tee (heavyweight cotton tee) — True to size, a little roomy through the body.
- Youth Tee (youth tee) — Same fit as the adult tee, scaled down.
- Adult Hoodie (heavy blend hoodie) — True to size, plus the extra bulk of hoodie fabric — factor that in if it is going over another layer.
- Youth Hoodie (youth hoodie) — Mirrors the adult hoodie, just smaller; works well over a long-sleeve shirt.
- Adult Polo (polo) — Trims closer through the shoulders than anything else here. If you are active in it — coaching, teaching, working a table — and you are between sizes, size up.
- Adult Long Sleeve (long sleeve) — Fits like the adult tee with sleeves added: true to size, a little roomy, room to layer under a hoodie.
Stuck between two sizes?
Want a closer, tailored look? Order your usual size. Want room to layer, or you just do not like a snug fit? Size up — especially on the polo, where the shoulder cut makes the biggest difference. For a group order, roomier is the safer default: a loose shirt still gets worn; one that is tight across the shoulders often does not.
Mixing youth and adult sizes
Youth and adult are not one continuous scale — a youth extra-large is not "one size below adult small," it is a smaller garment built for a smaller frame. For an order spanning younger kids and older teens or adults, do not default a growing kid into youth just because of age; if borderline, an adult small often fits longer and matches the group's cut better. Youth and adult pieces ship together in one order either way, so size by fit, not by age.
Since custom prints are not returnable for a size ordered in error, it is worth a minute here before you check out. See every size and price on Products, or read how sizing works for a full class order on Custom School Shirts.
