Student Council Shirts for the Officers Who Run the Year
Student council, ASB and leadership shirts: officer and rep designs, event staff shirts for dances, school-wide orders, and PO billing. No minimum order.
Council has a problem the drama club doesn't: you look exactly like the people you're organizing. Same age, same hallway, same hoodie. So the parent with a checkbook at the dance, the sophomore hunting for the ballot table, the custodian looking for whoever booked the cafeteria, each one asks whoever is standing closest. Student council also orders more than any other club. Besides its own shirts, it usually runs the school's spirit wear, the dance staff shirts, spirit week, and sometimes the senior class order. This page covers all of it.
Use the name your school actually uses
Some schools say Student Council; others say Leadership, ASB, Associated Student Body or Student Government. Put the words on the shirt that already show up in the morning announcements and on the ballot. A shirt that says one thing while the posters say another makes people hesitate to ask.
- Officer titles work as a second line: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations.
- The term year is worth adding ("2026-2027 Leadership"): it tells next year's board that the shirt in the closet isn't theirs.
- A short motto can go on the back: "Here to Help," "Ask Me," "Student Voice," "Lead by Example."
Officers and representatives
Most councils have two groups: an executive board of a handful of elected officers, and a larger body of class or homeroom reps. They usually want to match without being identical.
- Same design, different second line. Everyone gets the council name; officers get their title, reps get "Class Rep" or their grade.
- Same design, different garment. Officers in the Adult Polo ($25.63) for assemblies, board meetings and open house; reps in the Adult Tee ($14.38).
- Officer names on the back. Each officer's name and title can print from a pasted list at no cost for the lettering, and a names list ships by the faster service for free. With the council name on the front, that back is one extra surface.
There is no minimum, so nine officers in one design and thirty reps in another are both real orders, and so is one shirt for the advisor.
Pick a color no single grade owns
Council speaks for the whole school, so borrowing a color one class has already claimed works against you. If the seniors turn up in Red at every assembly and the freshmen have staked out Royal, officers in either one read like a faction instead of the group running the vote. Navy, Black, Forest Green, Sport Gray and White stay neutral across grades. Keep one color all term so September photos and April ones show the same board.
The exception is event staff, where you want the opposite: a color nobody else is wearing.
Event staff shirts for dances and spirit week
At a dance, a pep rally or a spirit week lunch event, the council is staff. A staff shirt makes them findable in a dark gym or a crowded courtyard.
- "STAFF" or "EVENT CREW" across the back in big block letters, with the council name on the front. That back is one extra surface, $8.99 on the Adult Tee.
- A bright color for event nights only: Gold, Orange, Kelly Green or Carolina Blue on the Adult Tee stand out in a crowd and are rarely a class color.
- One shirt for every event. Leave the date off the staff shirt and it covers homecoming, winter formal and prom.

Running a school-wide order
The council is often the group that sells spirit wear to the whole school. Two ways to do it, depending on how much money handling you want:
- A free storefront. The council picks the designs and garments; each student or family orders and pays at the listed price, shipped to their home, and the group earns 10% of storefront sales. Senior officers and the senior class
Senior class officers often run the class shirt too: a design with every graduate's name on the back, or a class motto and year. Every size of a garment costs the same, and mixed sizes and garments ship together. Bulk prices come off automatically, counted on each item's own pieces across colors and sizes: the Adult Tee drops to $10.90 at 12 or more and $9.03 at 50 or more; the Adult Polo to $23.31 at 12, $19.98 at 24 and $16.94 at 50. The polo prints on the left chest (not stitched) and comes in Navy, Red, Royal, Black, White and Athletic Heather; size up if between sizes. For a large single-design run of 24 or more of one item, Remi offers screen printing when it costs less than full color; screen-printed items ship to one address as their own parcel. The first surface is included in the price; each extra one is $8.99 to $10.99 depending on the product.
Paying from activity funds
Most council money sits in a school activity account, which means a purchase order and an approval chain. Build the order in the cart, download a quote PDF (good for 30 days), and send it to the bookkeeper. Pay by invoice with the PO, and send a tax-exempt certificate if the school has one (quotes and purchase orders). Allow a week or two for the approval before you count production time.
Discount codes: WELCOME10 on a first order, REORDER10 for returning customers; one code per order, not on polos, and a code does not add to a bulk price (the order gets whichever takes more off).
Timeline: elections, then shirts
Most councils hold elections in spring, and the new board takes over in the fall. Order after results are certified, so a recount does not leave a shirt with the wrong title. A common plan:
- Late spring or summer: settle the design with the new board.
- Five weeks before the first event of the year (often a back-to-school assembly or the first dance): place the order. Four weeks fits with little slack on free economy shipping; three is tight.
- Event staff shirts: order once, early, and reuse them all year.
Production takes up to 10 business days after checkout, then transit, typically 4 to 8 business days with free economy shipping or 2 to 5 with faster shipping where offered. There is no rush printing, and the cart shows expected arrival dates before you pay. If school is closed when shirts arrive, ship to the advisor's home; one order can ship to up to 10 addresses, the first free and each further address adding its postage (ship to multiple addresses). How to order with Remi
